First, he took credit for disrupting the election process and giving Hillary Clinton her victory on Tuesday by directing his loyal flock to switch from the Republican party to the Democratic to cast a vote for Hillary last Tuesday. (You see it's not enough to support your own candidate - you have to muck up the process of the opposition in order to give yourself a better chance of maintaining power).
Next, Rush floated a new idea with his listeners that some might think was a veiled threat to start a riot at the Democratic Convention. (Because after all, if citizens fight each other then the Republican party is likely to win the election. Who cares about the division and long lasting scars for this nation. Rush wants his money and his politicians to protect said fortune. To hell with what the rest of the country is going through.)"One in ten voters say they changed party registration to vote in this year's Pennsylvania primary. Ten percent of the vote is huge. That would be five times the past high for a crossover vote with a closed primary. That's an absolutely huge number -- and once again, ladies and gentlemen, that is Operation Chaos," – Rush Limbaugh
"Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don't elect Democrats, ... I am not inspiring or inciting riots, I am dreaming of riots in Denver....There won't be riots at our [Republican] convention ... We don't riot. We don't burn our cars. We don't burn down our houses. We don't kill our children. We don't do half the things the American left does." - Rush LimbaughOne of the reasons I support Barack Obama is that he rejects this type of politics which has crippled us with domestic despair for the past generation . Unfortunately, since America has been poisoned by this style of politics since at least the days of Lee Atwater and Ronald Reagan, it will be very difficult to break folks away for their long addiction to hatred. But if this country is to rebound that is exactly what we need to do - and we need to do it now.
So while many on the right and in the media want to condemn Barack Obama for his association with Rev. Wright, I ask why Republican politicians associate with Limbaugh? Why do they listen to him year after year? Why do they go on his show? Why do they not repudiate his hateful world view? It's clear to me that Limbaugh has done thousands of times more damage to this nation than Rev. Wright could ever do. Yet, he continues to get paid. I guess, the difference is that Rev. Wright fights against injustice toward the poor and disenfranchised while Limbaugh fights against restraints on the rich and powerful, who in turn make sure he is protected and compensated for his efforts. In a nutshell, my friends that is what's wrong with America!
